An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the shepherd was near his temporary shelter at Lakabar Dhar when he accidentally slipped from the mountainous track and fell into a deep gorge. He said the shepherd sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. He was later identified as Mohammad Hussain (45), son of Shaban Khanji, a resident of Lati Jar in Gandoh.
